It's moments like this I love! I told Carly to toss the bouquet to Wil and this was the shot I got.


I love photographing weddings. There can be so much spontaneity if the couple has the right mindset. Forget everything you read about the do's and don'ts. It is YOUR DAY! So make it your day of memories. Don't try to make it a text book day, otherwise you will leave yourself disappointed. Carly and Wilson sure had the right mindset going into their big day and you could tell they were having fun. Even when the rehearsal left them drenched the night before, they never let that be a problem.
Thanks again you two! Even if I never photograph another wedding, you guys made me realize again why I love what I do. It was also pretty neat to do this one with my husband as my assistant. Thanks honey, you did great!

Ceremony- five stars! Their vows were lovely and the officiator stepped out of the way during the ceremony which was wonderful (for me as a photographer!). Afterwards, I told him that it was lovely and we talked about that. He said he always tries to get the couple to do that, since the wedding is about them, not him. What a wonderful thoughtful gesture.
And of course, getting the groom's reaction as the bride comes in is always priceless. I have one other of Nick and everyone, but I'm saving it until they see it first. Oh, to share with my blog readers, the little boys were telling Kaylee how beautiful she was, just before she was to enter the chapel. Definitely a wonderful moment!

Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day! You are such a cute couple, OK< yesterday I said you were HOT! Charlie, your dress has got to be the most awesome dress I've ever had a chance to photograph! Love it! I've not even begun to wade through all the shots from the reception but here's some of my favorites! More to come and a slideshow this week sometime. Congratulations and I wish you both a long, happy life together!

A beautiful wedding

Here's a sneak peek at some of my favorites from Shelly and Justin's wedding on Saturday. Even the heat couldn't dampen the spirits of everyone and it was obvious that romance was the winner. At 8 p.m. it was still extremely hot, but as the sun went down beyond the horizon, I captured my two all-time favorite images!
I'm partial to August weddings. That's because my husband and I married in August -- the 1st to be exact ... a few years ago ... not telling!
