Book Preview

This is the book I've been working on and now it's ready to buy. Thinking Christmas in July? Well really, you should. This is a great time and I'm shamelessly promoting my book. By clicking on my blurb badge, it will take you to the preview, which only hints at what is in the book.
Today, when I showed it off to friends and coworkers, some of the comments I got I was not prepared for at all. One person said it was some of the best work of mine they'd ever seen and I that I should be very proud. Another very dear friend gave me a big hug and said she was proud of me. I wished I had video taped everyone who looked at the book. It was really fun to see the reactions and how they would pick out a favorite photo.
I am looking for corporate and business sponsors to purchase levels so that I can gift some of the books as I'd like to get this in rural libraries in Oklahoma and provide some of the cowboys with a copy. I happened to meet a Comanche school librarian today at our local used bookstore and she's hopeful to get a copy for the library. Triple Digit Days means fun in the water

Third day in a row that has been 105 degrees and then some! This was over the weekend when my husband was watering the front, which sadly needed it. MM couldn't help herself. She so loves the water. Ever since she was a newborn.

What's in your bowl?

Instead of what's on your plate! I started to title this 'cheap finds'...the placemat at Wal-Mart for $1, yes, off the summer clearance aisle in the garden section. The bowl I found just a half hour earlier at the Goodwill for 99 cents. I was going to use the photo as my new blog banner, but then got to playing around with some old candy heart photos I shot in February and came up with what you see now up there. I think it's fresh and summery.
Today was so hot. I just checked the noaa for OKC area, reached 105 degrees today and right now is 88d and 43 percent humidity. That's ridiculous. While my husband was watering the yard earlier, we let MM play in the water that was sprinkling. She didn't get too wet, but enough to help her cool down. I shot some photos of course, haven't loaded them yet.
I've been enjoying blog surfing, finding new blogs, charging up my creative spirit. I just checked blurb and see that my book has been shipped and is on its way to me! I can't wait. MMs July 4th photos

Now this is the way to have fun on the 4th! Even if we melted five minutes after going outside. Then it rained tonight, cancelled most of Oklahoma's fireworks shows. Thank goodness for sparklers.

Happy Fourth of July!

This is so cute. The entire house exterior is just so 'neighborhood warm feeling' for lack of a better description. The other day I drove around to see if I could find some patriotic porches. This one is just around the corner from ours. My favorite.
This next one is magnificent - I mean in terms of size. This place is huge and I just love that they took the time to put out some red, white and blue. I can't find my flag this year and that irritates me to no end. Here's a house in Duncan's historic district. This house always looks very nice.

Oops, just a tad crooked, but isn't this simplicity just lovely, combined with the architecture, it's just gives a nice look.
So we had every intention of hitting the Marlow Fourth of July parade today, but Miss M wasn't feeling well and we just couldn't get going in time, so we opted out of going. I know, shame, shame. The neat thing tonight is that Duncan's fireworks will be set off like two or three blocks from our home. Not sure if we can see them for the trees, but maybe if we are down on the highway we can. They opted to use the Halliburton Stadium. I just hope that you don't have to be IN the stadium to see them, ha! Later today I plan on doing Miss M's holiday photos. We got her a cute simple holiday dress and some balloons. It should be fun. I'll try to post them later.
