It's here!
This is the book I've been working on and now it's ready to buy. Thinking Christmas in July? Well really, you should. This is a great time and I'm shamelessly promoting my book. By clicking on my blurb badge, it will take you to the preview, which only hints at what is in the book.
Today, when I showed it off to friends and coworkers, some of the comments I got I was not prepared for at all. One person said it was some of the best work of mine they'd ever seen and I that I should be very proud. Another very dear friend gave me a big hug and said she was proud of me. I wished I had video taped everyone who looked at the book. It was really fun to see the reactions and how they would pick out a favorite photo.
I am looking for corporate and business sponsors to purchase levels so that I can gift some of the books as I'd like to get this in rural libraries in Oklahoma and provide some of the cowboys with a copy. I happened to meet a Comanche school librarian today at our local used bookstore and she's hopeful to get a copy for the library. If you are interested in learning more about the sponsor levels, please e-mail me at photosbytonih (at) yahoo dot com

State of Emergency, find the beauty within!
OK< my news side sort of took over in the my title post! I kept hearing this odd noise and realized we were getting iced...it wasn't hail, but bigger than sleet. The wind is crazy, and we are in one of the milder targeted counties according to the news on TV.
The last photo on this post below is from after the last storm we had several weeks ago. It wasn't really much of a storm, but lent itself to beautiful images. This storm I may just stay inside - until I HAVE to venture out Saturday night to cover an event in a town 10 miles south.

This nasty weather gives us photographers plenty of opportunity to play on the Internet, or process images. I shot these tangelos a week or so ago. Processed them in all different ways. I can't make up my mind what is my favorite! May have to make a blurb book just with all the different final versions. Maybe one of those small blurb books in softcover.
I sure wish I had gotten the fourth book of the Twilight series. This would have been a great weekend to read that. I am finishing up Dark Side of the Moon by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It's OK. I think I'll go dig up a book by Diane Mott Davidson out of my closet and read it. Perfect weather. Hot tea or cocoa and I'm good to go! Course, a latte would be primo! You can find more of my tangelos on my flickr stream. A link is to the side of my blog, visually.

Cool finds..photo related!
(Click on the title when you are finished here and the link will whisk you away to my etsy shop!)
Now for the real post!
Since I'm way too tired this early a.m. to dig up a photo to post, I'm sitting here surfing one of my favorite online places - no not ebay! Ruby Lane! First I found a very cool cat brooch, not posting it since I may still buy it! But then I found this: www.rubylane.com/shops/buttercups/item/291.
It's a Battlefields of Gettysburg set of vintage photographs with a small box they fit in. It says the price is $35 which isn't bad for souvenir photos of our nation's historical land. Imagine crafting a story to go along with the images? Would be great for an art series or altered journal. this particular shop also has other items, particularly nice are her vintage books and vintage children's books for sale.
And you can always stop by my new etsy shop if you are in the mood! Well it isn't new but I am just now listing items. It's mostly to sell my fine art photographs, blank notecards. But I've also got some vintage finds listed.
I go by photogypsy320. Try this link and it might get you there!

And I did add a photo here of one of my Carnival series images that can be found on my etsy shop. This one is titled "Carnival Vintage" and seems to be a very popular image. I can also sell it larger sizes with a digital mat added to preserve the entire image. Let me know if you are interested.
