Found this through the indiewire.com site. The documentary is 7 Days in September. It's 94 minutes in length and done extremely well. Much of it may seem familiar to you, but there was so much of it that I never knew or saw on TV that was heartwarming to watch. And there was footage that stirred up old emotions from 7 years ago. I remember being in the newsroom at the time it happened and it's odd, but I can remember that entire day just like a movie reel. I can remember whose phone rang when, us turning on the TV, me calling my kid's school, and so much more. I remember getting home that night and checking my e-mails for the NPPA web group and discovering that photographers had died also, that were on the group and many other moments.
Just now I went to set something on my dining room table and an article dated Sept. 20, 2001, was laying there. I had written it and another one and guess it had fallen out of a book or box recently. The article and some framed photos were all that is on the table tonight. I picked up the article and realized what it was. "Red Cross duo bound for NY" and the other one dated Nov. 12, 2001 - To Hell and Back: Local nurse recounts indescribable Ground Zero scene.
Just makes you stop for a moment and reflect on so much.

Tomatoes become ART!

Finally, I have created a set of manipulations (not actions) but steps to turn some of my images into something more than just another photograph. And all WITHOUT the use of textures! I can't wait to order this as a canvas piece!
And yes, I will be offering these for sale but I'm ordering samples first to see how I best want to present these.

Makings of a great meal

Tomatoes, red onions, garlic ... the basis of so many wonderful dishes, from pasta to salad and even chili!

But tonight I'm making bbq pork chops in the oven. So, the tomato and red onion will get put on the plates sliced and ready to enjoy just as they are. My husband and I love red onion, he doesn't do the tomatoes so much because they are just too acidic for him.

Autumn sessions

I am starting to get busy again these days with sessions. I am limiting them since I still have some projects underway and really am working hard to complete them. This has been an intensive year. My projects have included wedding albums, coffee table books and a few other products. I hope to roll these out within the next few weeks.

But, back to the sessions. I am booked September 13 and the morning of September 20. I have another open date that is taken, probably closer to November by a wonderful family I've had the enjoyment of photographing before!

I will be picking a day for mini sessions in the park. This will be a one day only special and I expect to book that day up fairly fast. It will be perfect for autumn portraits. Remember, while I do families, my specialty is seniors and children. And I love PETS! So you are always welcome to bring your cat or dog or I can come to your place if you have horses. The sessions in the park will not be for seniors only, but more for families or children's portraits.

One of my cats

Introducing sh*thead. My husband name the poor thing. eegads. She's a sweet cat, very independent and I need to get her to the vet. She's not very fat. She's an outdoor cat and probably has worms. I promise I will take her this next week. I'm still recovering from twoface (my calico) going to the vet, that was like $450.
Course, we are still battling the raccooooooooooons...which like the cat food.
Someone tried to take twoface during our yard sale in July. I said, no way buddy. That cat cost me too much money just to give her away. Besides twoface loves my granddaughter!

I didn't accomplish anything today. Shot some photos in the backyard and watched What happens in Vegas with my family. Took a nap. Course, I slept until 11 a.m. to begin with. Now it's 8 p.m. so the day is gone!
