Fields of Flowers!

These are probably two of my favorite kids to photograph that aren't even related to me!
I remember the first time I shot B's photo, she was about a year old playing in a wading pool. That was nine years ago or so! Wow! Then I had the pleasure of photographing M's birthday tea party earlier a few months ago. Such fun!

The first photo I shot later in the afternoon, completely natural light, no flash at all. The second image I shot about two hours earlier in the day at a different location. I love both of these images and really can't decide which is my favorite! The second one they were totally caught off guard. I just love the naturalness of it.
Thank you Tiffany for letting me photograph your girls - yet again! I'll be posting more images later tonight, but a movie demands my attention! hah! Actually, I've demanded my husband watch it with me so off I go!
Oh, and hint hint....POST your comments here in the comment section underneath! Please! I need some feedback generated! LOL I have way too many 'blog stalkers' who never post NICE feedback!

Borders and personalization!

Want a border or personalization on your wallets or up to 5x7 size? Can do!
I added a vintage appeal to this image with the tones and the border to show you just one of many options that can add drama to your photos!

Andi, this photo is probably my favorite from your session. You just look so comfortable and poised. Your gallery is online now for viewing.
I'm going to put more up here also, black and white images since you said you'd love to have them all black and white!

Washtub cutie!

Only a cutie pie like little miss here could make a rustic wooden tub look like a bath fit for a princess!

Moms, if you missed getting your little one's spring portraits, it's not too late! I can do quick mini sessions that last about 30 minutes.
For details, call me 580.641.1477.
I also offer evening sessions for those of you who work and only have that time available.

Favorites!

In the mood to blog tonight, so here's a few of my favorites from recent senior sessions.

Storms!

I have an obsession with storms! When I was little, I was scared to death of them. See, in California, we learned about earthquakes, but a tornado was unheard of. So, moving to Oklahoma, hearing a tornado siren sound and not knowing what a tornado was (I was only 10 at the time!) I guess I thought it was the end of the world. It was many, many years before I got past that fear! LOL
It wasn't until after I really got into photography and was living in Colorado before I realized, hey, this whole storm thing could be FUN! Yes, I know, demented, huh? But I have some super wall cloud images on display in my home and while to Oklahomans they look scary, shooting the images was extremely safe. Sitting out on the plains of Colorado, you can see for miles and miles. The storms were a good distance but the photos look like the storm was right on top of me. I think by the time we took cover, it might have been half a mile away.
In Oklahoma though, the storm can be right on top of you before you know it. Like today! There I was sitting in Duncan in front of the Stage store at Elk Plaza, deep in conversation on my cell, when all of a sudden it got really dark and there it was. I'm sure I shouted obscenities when I looked up at the sky. I was semi-prepared. I had taken my camera and gear with me this morning, but when I could have jumped out and got a great shot, it started raining hard and so I didn't risk getting my camera soaked.
I headed back to the newspaper and while there talking with a co-worker, we hear over the scanner that a funnel had possibly touched down at Halliburton Stadium (Duncan High's football field). I don't think much happened though other than just a toss of some field equipment.
But, I was kind of bummed to not have gotten any shots so far this year. And for it supposedly to be one of the high risk days, it wasn't much and was short lived. My adrenalin barely moved!
So, if you've read this much, and are still clamoring for a storm shot. The link is in the title of this entry and will take you to my old proofing gallery and some 2005 images I have up. I'll try to be more diligent in the future!
Also, here's a link to a photo I really like that I shot in Oklahoma http://tphotos.smugmug.com/gallery/508938#34889330-L-LB
If you have any great storm shots from this week, send them my way. I'd be happy to post them!

A busy week!

You can post comments under the images (as long as they are NICE!). Besides making me (the photographer) feel good, ha! the people in the photos also enjoy seeing that others like their images. Today I'm extremely busy processing senior images so everyone can view and choose their wallets for graduation announcements. And I'm still doing senior sessions this weekend. If you call and don't get a hold of me, leave a message and I'll return your call.

Meanwhile, here's a couple more images of Ashley that I really like.

A new site!

Big changes are coming for Toni Hopper Photography! There will be a new Web site launched in the coming weeks (so tonihopperphotography.com will soon be gone), but I won't be! Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere, I'm just revamping my online presence. I will still use this blog as frequently as ever, but the new site will offer a host of wonderful things. I'm so excited. I'll reveal more details at the time I get ready to launch the site.

Easter humor

All Pooped Out!

It just doesn't get cheesier then this. Easter has become so commercialized, this was my way of poking fun at that commercialization. I thought about titling it Laying down on the job..but had the truffles and thought, aww, why not!

This next one, no need for fancy equipment. Just look at those awesome catchlights in his eyes. Wow! Just using natural light. Hah!

The Blue Door

This is probably one of my most favorite senior session images! I love this blue. It's nearly the same blue I have my studio door and a wall painted. Very electric!
To see more of Josh's images, scroll on down PAST the silly 'my celebrity look-alike' post.

My Celebrity Look-alikes

My cool celebrity look-alike collage from MyHeritage.com. Get one for yourself.

This is kind of a fun thing to play around and just waste time. The celebrity I most look like I didn't use because the photo option of her was just horrible! Sofia Coppola, a beautiful woman, but the photo didn't do justice. A 63 percent match. I'm not surprise by the Italian heritage, though you can't tell it by this photo of me. Another funny is that several of the images of Sofia reminded me of my dearest childhood friend, Lisa Montgomery. We attended a private school together in Pacifica but lost touch over the years. So if you know Lisa or her sister, Beth, send Lisa my way! I'd love to reconnect!

Now, go, what are you waiting for...find out who you look like!

The shoes!

Just a few more for Josh and Ashley.
Those shoes are awesome!
